ActiveBatch®Web Server/Client Improves Accessibility to the ActiveBatch Job Scheduling and Management System

ActiveBatch Web Client Interface simplifies and improves secure access for the improved management and scheduling of ActiveBatch jobs.

HOBOKEN, NEW JERSEY – May 11, 2001 – Advanced Systems Concepts, a leading developer of System Management and Production Software System solutions, announced today the ActiveBatch Web Server/Client interface for secure and easy internet/intranet access to its comprehensive enterprise Job Management and Scheduling system, ActiveBatch. With the introduction of the ActiveBatch Web Server/Client users can now manage their jobs and processes from any machine platform that can run either the Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape web browsers. ActiveBatch Web Server and Client will be demonstrated at Microsoft's TechEd 2001 in Atlanta and will be available via download in July 2001 from http://www.activebatch.com. The ActiveBatch Web Server/Client is separately priced from the ActiveBatch Job Management and Scheduling system.

"Today's mobile workforce require operational and administrative access to their Job Management and Scheduling systems regardless of their current location," said Jim Manias, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Advanced Systems Concepts. "ActiveBatch already supports job execution across a wide range of hardware and software platforms. By offering client access to the ActiveBatch system through the most popular web browsers we’ve simplified how users can connect to their systems and also added a host of new platforms that can support client access. Administrators love this new access because no software is actually installed on the client machine and all access is fully authenticated."

The ActiveBatch Web Client allows full operational control for creating, modifying, submitting, holding or deleting ActiveBatch objects, including jobs or processes, and their properties within the ActiveBatch system by making full use of the Microsoft Windows 2000/NT security model. In addition the authenticated user can utilize the ActiveBatch Web Client to manage all on-going operational situations and initiate actions from the "web" desktop.

The ActiveBatch Web Server component is licensed and installed on a per Microsoft IIS server basis. No special software is required on the client’s machine and an unlimited number of client machines are supported.

ActiveBatchÒ is an Enterprise Cross-Platform Job Scheduling and Management System designed for Windows 2000/NT that using its Calendar, Event and On-Demand Scheduling capabilities automates processes and jobs throughout an organization. ActiveBatch's use of highly advanced technologies to support Workload Balancing, Checkpoint/Restart, Job Stream Distribution as well as transparent cross platform dependencies sets ActiveBatch apart in the areas of scalability, reliability, and manageability. ActiveBatch uniquely allows the defining of Event Triggers for enhanced processing capabilities across a wide range of hardware and software properties.
