ActiveBatch's use of powerful Alerts permits the sending of E-mail messages to designated personnel describing the precise nature of a developing situation. An ActiveBatch resident application, on the BlackBerry handheld, receives and presents the alert message in an easy to understand format so appropriate action can be taken via direct reply. For example, a System Administrator might elect to resubmit a failed job or using ActiveBatch's on-demand jobs capabilities trigger the restart of a system service or perform other necessary operations to manage situations, as identified in the alert. A "return-receipt" provides end-to-end acknowledgement that the operation has been received and processed by ActiveBatch. ActiveBatch Wireless is capable of initiating action messages as well as responding to alerts.
Using the ActiveBatch Wireless ISSUE command, a remote user can initiate and send ActiveBatch commands to manage and monitor their environment anywhere and at anytime.
