The Sector7 Stage Two Assessment provides a sound second step for a successful migration effort.
Cost: Ascertained as part of Stage One Assessment and included in Stage One Assessment Report.
Process: Migration Planning.
Description: During the Stage Two Assessment (Planning Stage) we review unresolved issues from the Stage One Assessment. Then all the tasks for the project are entered into a very detailed project plan. Completion criteria are developed during this Stage of work.
Objective: Provide a Detailed Assessment to determine a fixed price and duration for a migration project. This is the planning stage.
Prerequisite: Stage One Assessment
Time-Line
The
Stage Two Assessment obviously relies on the completion of all the elements
of the Stage One Assessment. Shown below is an outline indication of the expected
time taken for each element based on previous experience. Due to the fact
that no two migration clients are the same, and possible geographical/time-zone
differences, these should be used for guidance only. Time shown is measured
in units of working days.
Statement
of Work
As a part of the Stage One Assessment Report, a SOW for the Stage Two Assessment
will be prepared and supplied to the client. The SOW describes the
tasks and deliverables that should be expected.
Objective: If not already done, supply the client with the Statement of Work for a Stage Two Assessment to be performed by Sector7.
Site
Visit
In
order to provide a more in-depth review of the clients working environment
as required by the Stage Two Assessment, it will be necessary for a Sector7
Migration Assessment Engineer to again visit the clients site to gather
information from both their commercial and technical staff. Prior to the visit,
the Sector7 Migration Assessment Engineer will prepare a Site Visit Agenda.
Objective: For the Sector7 Migration Assessment Engineer to prepare an agenda for the site visit, collect technical details of the current environment, collect code on media for analysis at Sector7s premises, set client expectations for delivery of our analysis
Prerequisite: The site visit cannot be scheduled until a Purchase Order referring to the Stage Two Assessment Statement of Work has been supplied and the Site Visit Agenda has been agreed upon by all parties.
Tasks
During
the site visit, the Sector7 Migration Assessment Engineer will perform the
tasks necessary to correctly evaluate the clients current environment
as required for the purposes of the Stage Two Assessment. Tasks include, but
are not limited too:
Objective: For the Sector7 Migration Assessment Engineer to gather sufficient information to facilitate production of the Stage Two Assessment Report and associated Project Plan
