Skip Garvin to Serve as VP, Business Development
New York, NY, July, 2001 – Sector7, ( www.sector7.com ), the leading engineering and consulting company specializing in application renovation and migration, today announced it has hired Skip Garvin, its former business development executive, as Vice President, Business Development. Garvin rejoins Sector7 after one year at Ecora, Inc.
Skip Garvin brings to Sector7 a 31-year career in sales and marketing and business development in the technology industry. Skip returns to Sector7 from Ecora, a start-up offering automated documentation services for IT environments. As Director of Sales and Business Development, Skip successfully established strategic account relationships for Ecora Corp. with Avanade, Compaq, IBM, Oracle and Sun.
Prior to this, Skip exceeded revenue and program goals for Sector7’s start-up program with IBM to build application migration centers in North America. Skip came to Sector7 originally from Compaq Computer’s Digital Equipment Corp. During his 26-year tenure, Skip held a variety of sales and sales management positions including European Product Sales Manager, where he developed, developed UNIX workstation/server sales programs and budgets for 22 European countries, and increased market share from 2 to 31%.
Skip began his career at Westinghouse Electric Corp as a General Sales Manager and Technical Consultant. A former Captain of the United States Air Force, Skip earned his BS in Business Administration at The Citadel, The Military College of SC and received his MSA from George Washington University. An accomplished public speaker, he has also attended Executive and Sales Management Programs at Harvard Business School.
